Cognitive Psychology
The General Principle papers made me think hard about the material we were learning. The structure required you to summarize the gist of a reading and then provide a practical example of the idea or concept. You really could not engage in this activity if you did not understand the material and the process of the activity. What I loved about this activity is that the ideas we were learning about how people learn were practiced in the learning activities we engaged in. One concept we learned is that people remember new ideas and concepts that have meaning to them. In the General principle papers you were required to provide an example from your life that supported this new idea and providing real life examples provides meaning to the new ideas. I loved this course and would like to take more Cognitive Science courses in the future.
